LinkSelect is a lightweight Chrome extension designed to allow users to select an area of a webpage and copy all hyperlinks within that selection in a tab-separated format. LinkSelect is built with privacy as the top priority. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is processed, and how none of it is collected or shared.
1. Information We Collect
LinkSelect does not collect, store, transmit, or share any user data.

2. How the Extension Works
When the user activates LinkSelect and draws a selection box:

The extension temporarily reads hyperlink elements (title + URL) within the user’s selected area only

The extracted links are copied directly to the user’s clipboard

This data is processed locally and never stored or transmitted

Once copied, LinkSelect immediately stops processing page content
The extension does not run in the background and does not monitor pages unless the user explicitly activates it.
3. Permissions Explanation
clipboardWrite
Used only to write the user-selected links to the clipboard after the user completes a selection. LinkSelect does not read from the clipboard.
Host permissions (<all_urls>)
Required so the extension can detect and read hyperlink elements on any webpage. The extension only accesses content inside the user’s selection area during active use.
Remote Code
LinkSelect does not download or run remote code. All code is included in the packaged extension and executed locally.
